In the commercial hospitality industry, the ideal thread count for hotel sheets falls between 200TC and 400TC.  Some sites or AI might say over 500TC the yarns could be not strong and not suitable for comercial washes, actually that's not true. The fabrics over 500TC can also be made very durable, the only issue is the produing cost is rather high if over 500TC.

The Institutional Standard: T-Numbers vs. Retail Thread Count

Unlike mass-market retail brands that use thread count to market products, North American commercial buyers utilize the T-number system.

• The Retail Loophole: Many retail brands lie about fabric density or fabric material—to artificially inflate a "200 TC" sheet into a "400" or "600" thread count label, or to declare a cotton/polyester blended sheet as pure cotton sheet. Most customers have no knowledge to tell the real fabric material or density. That's why when you bought some so called “1000TC Cotton sheets" on Amazon or eBay, they still don't feel as comfortable as hotel sheets.

• The Weave Type:
